Iranian poet Mehdi Mousavi comes to Berlin for Protest Literature 2, an evening of poetry and conversation at _subkontinent in Neukölln.
Mousavi will read from The Last Kiss, his bilingual Persian–English poetry collection, and join Prof. Dr. Dirk Wiemann, Professor of English Literature at the University of Potsdam, in conversation.
Through poetry and personal experience, the evening will explore life under repression in Iran, imprisonment and censorship, protest, exile and belonging, and the experience of building a new home after being forced to leave your country.
The event forms part of the Protest Literature series, which explores the relationship between literature, resistance and political participation.
Readings will be in Persian (Farsi) and English, followed by conversation and discussion.
